WCW – Word Crush Wednesday 19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; 20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; – Ephesians 5:19-20 Music is a remarkable superpower. It’s supernatural. It’s an influential phenomenon that commands the mind, heart, and soul of a person, sometimes rendering them powerless or powerful contingent upon the message accompanying it. Simply put, it’s a weapon! Yesterday morning, I awakened to these verses working a full war concert against every other thought in

Diamonds In The Feed

diamond Diamonds In The Feed PSX 20141008 172607 1

*******UPDATE******* Let me commence by expressing my love for social media. I know some people see it as only an instrument for evil, and in 1,000,001 cases, it is. People fight their problems out with their keyboards rather than discussing them. Bitterly disturbed individuals who should be in a general hospital allow the dysfunctional matters of their worlds to turn via every other strangers computer monitor. Some of the things I witness online on a daily basis are truly shameful, to say the least. But eeeever so often, a diamond will rear its beautiful shine in the midst of all

Song Listening to Keep Us Together by Jessie J PSX 20141008 172607 1

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about Those Social Reads That Surprise You. Then, I fell in love with this song. It fit the sentiment perfectly, like a hand in glove. But, every once in a while, an artist

Listening to New Slaves by Kanye West

After viewing a late night interview of Russell Simmons on the Arsenio Hall show, curiosity stirred me and I quickly googled this artist to read the lyrics to this song. I’m not a Kanye fan. However, a few months ago, after having a discussion on a similar topic with a close acquaintance, I was encouraged to look this song up and pay close attention to the lyrics while listening. I didn’t bother until last night. Let me tell you why. From what I gathered while watching the show, Arsenio was paying tribute to Def Jam with Simmons at the center.

Beyonce Is Not Your Baby’s Momma!

I love hearing stories about parents boycotting concerts and staging strikes on artists websites and social media accounts. It’s almost as if they’ve caught a sudden case of amnesia. Ahem, excuse me mommy and daddy dearest. Have you forgotten how these artists have gotten rich and famous? Let’s take a quick peek into your bank account. Yep, you guessed it. You’re responsible! Get over being mad Beyonce performed a thong song on the Grammy’s and get angry at the fact your son and/or daughter has unsupervised access to purchase parentally advised music at music sites like Itunes and Google Play. How is it these
