After their nap, I took the kids out in the yard for a little play time. My two year old is the leader and my one year old is his imitator. Without drawing attention to myself, I snuck a sit on the bench to take in the moment.
My two year old was engaging his little brother in a game of airplane. Whenever anything that remotely resembled a flying object in the sky flew by, he’d stretch his arms out as far as they could go and jet across the yard like a 757; with the little one in tow of course.
Just as they were jetting and I was enjoying the sounds of scattered laughter, they both went crashing down. I paused to see who would cry first. Neither of them cried. Instead, they fell back into the grass and blurted their tiny screeches of laughter to the sky.
Without hesitation, big brother wrapped his arms around little brother and yelled, “Mommy take a picture! Cheese!”
I’m glad I caught this moment.
