WCW – Word Crush Wednesday
Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Every life has a plan and purpose strategically designed by God. Sometimes we miss out on the beauty of the layout because we take detours or we take the initiative and try to revise the plan. Frustration and failure are always the end result. The draw-back of self-inflicted frustration and failure is condemnation. After we’ve caved under our own plans, we stop believing we’re deserving of God’s grace-deserving of a second chance at it. Deception! We can get right back in line!
God never voids His plan for our lives. He simply wants us to trust it. The exiles in this passage were in what I like to call a God-type situation. They could do nothing less than trust God and His plan for them in it. They weren’t in the most hospitable living situation. And I’m sure, like us, they questioned God as to how long they’d have to endure it. God’s plans are never just a fun walk through the tulips. When you don’t understand what God is doing, trust Him. When you’re going through the worst turmoil, trust Him. God’s intention in every plan always has a good outcome.
