‘I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal…” P3:12

…and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.

God desires for us to strive to be the best us; better disciples, better spouses, better parents, better siblings, have a better health plan and be better human beings. That process begins only when we make a daily concerted effort to strive to be better.

The effort is never some over-formulated plan. It’s as practical as waking up every morning and determining in your heart to think better things and do better things. Does that mean you won’t error in your purposed good doings? ABSOLUTELY NOT! But you won’t be disingenuous for trying either. You don’t have to let your ugly hang out everyday to prove to people that you’re worthy of the grace that presents you faultless. There’s a time and opportunity for every testimony. Let God use it when He wants to get the glory out if it, not as proof to others your walk is true.

God can’t get us to better if we don’t first put forth the effort. Living a better life requires work. You have to eat better, rest well and put forth some physical effort to be healthy. Exceptional paying jobs require education and hard work. And, to be an effective worker of the gospel, requires time in the good book and time on your knees.

That’s worship!
