One thing I’m a fan of is diversity. I believe culture cultivates us, people, into humane beings. Being raised in a multicultural family myself, it’s my belief that human beings are educated more concerning their own struggle by involving themselves in the cultural experiences of other races.
Moreso, I appreciate being able to turn on the television and experience it raw and first hand. Last year, while getting some wrist exercise with the remote, I came across what I consider THE most diverse talk show on television. The Real. Five women from four different cultural backgrounds: Loni Love, Tamar Braxton, Tamara Mowry-Housely, Jeannie Mai and Adrienne Bailon open up and tell the raw truth about yesterday’s and today’s current affairs, all while spilling a little tea about their own personal and cultural experiences with success and stardom. A large percentage of what they discuss doesn’t fall on my side of the agreement scale, but I give kudos to the network for putting diversity out front and center.
The show went off air for a while but I hear it’s set to return this September. I can’t wait.
