Love Let Them See wpid psx 20150516 110537 820x312

I have literally been trying for days to muster up some logical thought to form at least a sentence or paragraph that would put into words the astonishing hurt, anger, and disbelief I’ve felt. On one hand I wish I’d never clicked play and the other I knew I’d regret not doing so. With my hand partially covering the screen of my smart phone and my face slightly turned away to not catch the full gruesome ordeal, I watched as paid public servants, sworn to protect, cold-bloodedly murder to beautiful blacks souls, one on live feed. I watched the death

#WCW-Word Crush Wednesday God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good? – Numbers 23:19 I believe it was this time last year I was sitting in church and listening to one of the elders share what can be considered your average testimony during the offering moment. Normally when anyone takes the mic during the time for giving they either share a scripture everyone knows or a moment in time when God came

When He’s Intentional, Just Smile and Say, “Thank You!”

When He’s Intentional, Just Smile and Say, “Thank You!” wpid 20151206 115124 820x312

Eating healthy is a big to-do in our household. Fresh vegetables, whole grains, and organic fruits are mainly what our fridge and cabinets are made up of. But every now and then, we throw caution to all things healthy and spice up our lives with our favorite fast food item or something boxed off the grocery store shelf. Rolling into this third trimester of pregnancy, my cravings are nothing short of “Oh wow!” I could wake up at three in the morning desiring a big bowl of watermelon and by midafternoon crave a salad with corn chips and seasoned fries.

#WCW – In The Clutch

#WCW – In the Clutch 14 Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about.15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.17 And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord

Restless Revelations

Restless Revelations IMG 7192 p 810x540

It’s a little bit after four in the morning and I’m resting at my other favorite place in the house—the computer. For some reason, other than me knowing it’s the Lord just wanting to chat a bit, I’ve been waking up around this time every morning for the last week and half or so. Instead of forcing myself to sleep after a brief prayer session, I moved upon an unction to head over to the laptop. I sat there for a few minutes trying to decide what to do—book work, site work, proofreading, etc…but nothing came right away. Then suddenly,

35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and

Finish what you started

Finish what you started Finish what you started file7311249589896 thumb

I awakened this morning with the reminder of duty on my heart—completing the task so-to-speak. Rounding out the plans, sifting the content, and culminating the finish is the center of my motivation. I thrive off of a message I heard years ago that left an eternal imprint in my heart and mind, The wealthiest places in the world are not gold mines, oil fields, diamond mines or banks. The wealthiest place is the cemetery. There lies companies that were never started, masterpieces that were never painted… In the cemetery there is buried the greatest treasure of untapped potential. There is

#WCW-Word Crush Wednesday: here is am…send me! In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled

If I haven’t mentioned it before in any other blog, support your local libraries! In a world chock-full-o’ Amazon, Google, Apple, Windows, and all other sorts of virtual matter, having a free resource like the local library at our disposal should elevate our happy into a state of over-frenzied joy–since it is a free resource and all. Growing up, meeting up with your crew (friends) at the public library was just as trendy as meeting up in the food court at the mall–because we all know the food court was the most happening spot in the whole mall, with the

Journaling, aside from pecking the pages of my heart away on a laptop, is one of my daily therapies. Whether I’m reading a book, a newspaper,  a pamphlet,  or etc., I keep my journal nearby to jot down ideas or descriptions of images that come to mind. A few days ago, my husband and I caught the movie Focus starring Will Smith. The movie is a genius display of how-to be a world-class pick pocket.  Will Smith, who plays the wayward son with the inherited craft of trickery and thievery, takes on a female understudy after she makes a failed
